Service Description

The BRIDGEdStart™ Consultation provides families with a supportive starting point to strengthen their understanding and identify meaningful next steps in their child's educational journey. Families may have questions about an educational process, an unfamiliar term, a recently emerged concern, or simply about where to begin. During this 30-minute virtual consultation, families can share their primary concerns, ask questions, receive general educational guidance, and strengthen their understanding of relevant educational information or processes. At EduCATaLIS™, we believe families are essential members of the educational team. Through the BRIDGEd™ Framework, we help make educational information more understandable so families can participate with greater confidence in conversations and decisions affecting their children. The consultation is introductory in nature. Its purpose is to help families better understand their circumstances and consider possible next steps, rather than to provide a comprehensive review, individualized analysis, or ongoing educational consultation. What's Included • 30-Minute Virtual Consultation • Discussion of Questions and Concerns • General Educational Guidance • Discussion of Possible Next Steps • Brief Follow-Up Email Important Information: BRIDGEdStart™ Consultation does not include educational records review, written reports, preparation for or attendance at a specific educational meeting, ongoing advocacy or consultation, legal advice, or legal representation. When the consultation identifies a need that genuinely aligns with another EduCATaLIS™ Family Service, the consultant may help the family understand that option. If one additional service is recommended and the family proceeds with it within 14 calendar days, the $95 consultation fee is applied toward that service. Educational decisions remain with families and the appropriate educational decision-makers. EduCATaLIS™ does not guarantee specific educational outcomes, services, placements, accommodations, eligibility determinations, or other decisions. At EduCATaLIS™, the goal is not dependency. The goal is confidence. BRIDGEdStart™ helps families begin with greater understanding so they can participate meaningfully in the educational process.
