Service Description

As part of the EduCATaLIS™ BRIDGEd™ Framework, the BRIDGEdStart™ Consultation provides families with supportive, easy-to-understand guidance as they begin navigating the special education process or seek a clearer understanding of their child’s educational services and supports. Educational meetings, evaluations, paperwork, and unfamiliar terminology can quickly feel overwhelming. Many parents and guardians enter these conversations unsure of what questions to ask, how to communicate concerns, or how to advocate for their child’s needs confidently. EduCATaLIS™ helps simplify the process by breaking complex information into clear, parent-friendly language that families can better understand and use. The BRIDGEdStart™ Consultation is designed for families who are: • New to the special education process • Preparing for upcoming school meetings • Seeking clarity about evaluations, accommodations, or support services • Feeling unsure about educational terminology or procedures • Looking for guidance in becoming stronger advocates for their child During the consultation, families receive practical guidance to better understand their child’s educational plan, available supports, and possible next steps while strengthening confidence in communicating and collaborating with school teams.
